There are no limits to location.
One of the wonderful things about a humanist wedding is that you can have it pretty much anywhere you want.
Luxury hotels, wedding barns, forests, hilltops, river banks, mountain passes, in canoes on a lake or even just your own garden. Want a wedding in a cave? I’ll see what I can do. But I won’t do sky-diving.
If you’ve got a place in mind, let me know and I can meet you both there.
Real weddings happen in great places!
Here are some photo’s of wonderful locations in the Lake District to fire your imagination. I’ve taken all these pictures myself and I’ll let them do the talking for me.
Of course, not all of these places are easy to get to and most will require you to get permission from the landowner.
Here are just a few links to just some of the very special wedding venues here in the Lake District:
Fell Foot Wood
Overlooking Windermere, Fell Foot Wood‘s owner Barry has created a very special events location. There are multiple lovely places you can choose from within the woods and camping and indoor space/bar are available.
Irton Hall
Up the west coast of Cumbria, Irton Hall is a lovely little hotel with a vast history. Set in the countryside with extensive lawns and a purpose built events building it’s a great place for in, or outdoor ceremonies.
Fairbank Wedding Barn
One of a new type of wedding venue where you get exclusive use of the whole place. Fairbank Wedding Barn is easily accessible and offers “potted Lake District” all in one place.
Netherwood Hotel
Located in the seaside resort of Grange-over-Sands, the Netherwood Hotel is a wonderfully grand and traditional place for your wedding but with all those modern comforts.
Storrs Hall
A beautiful hotel in its own grounds right on the shores of Windermere. Storrs Hall boasts many possible locations for weddings both indoors and out.
